Your 8th Birthday Celebration

On Saturday I went with you and your mother to get your football photo taken, then the game.  Here are some photos.

You didn't win the game, but you did great and so did your team.  After the game, you came home with me for your 8th birthday sleepover.  Here you are sipping the last of some chocolate milk I made for you.

Today, September 11, 20011 is the 10th anniversary of 9.11.01.  There was a lot of old footage on television and I tried to watch some of it because your Uncle Ted was at "Ground Zero" ten years ago.

You took this photo of me right before we went for a short walk around our neighborhood.

I couldn't resist taking this photo of you at my desk.

 After our walk you helped Mr. Bob fix the front gate.  He let you use the drill.  You were so excited.  Then he asked if you could carry the ladder and here you are.  He also challenged you to lifting his sledge hammer.  You did it.  Then he wanted to see if you could lift his pick axe.  You did.  He was impressed.  He gave you a dollar for helping him.

You wanted to play baseball in the driveway and we did, until you hit a ball right in my stomach.  It really hurt and I had to quit.  A little later Mr. Bob wanted to pitch you some balls.  He said you wouldn't be able to hit his pitches.  Well, you did and one went up on the roof and I saw it bounce once, then again and down into the front yard.  You laughed so hard. 

You wanted to go to Crackerjax so we did.  You beat me at miniature golf and then you rode on the rubber water bumper tubes.  I took these on my cell phone.  At first I thought you'd be out there all alone until 2 little girls got in to a tube.  You sort of went after them and pushed them under the waterfall.  The loved it.  After awhile you went under the waterfall and got soaked.  Then your engine died and one of the opertors had to go out and save you.

When you got out you were laughing because you really got soaked.  I said well let's get to the car and take your closes off and wring them out.  I had a big towel in my trunk and you sat on it with just your underwear on.  You asked me not to tell you dad because he would get mad.  I said I wouldn't, but that I would tell your mother.  I dried  your closes in the dryer and set your sneakers out on the patio.











Then you wanted to have a bubble bath.  You had to light candles even thought it wasn't dark.  I found them still lit later that day.  You forgot to use my extinguisher. .

You went under the bubbles and then came out.

A little later, Mr. Bob found the pool bottom clearner wasn't working.  You helped him by going into the water with your goggles and getting little pieces at the bottom.  Mr. Bob needed some parts so you went with him in the BMW with the top down.

You guys took a long time and I learned you stopped at the Halloween store to look around.

When you returned you helpted Mr. Bob in the back yard fixing the unit.

After the cleaner was fixed, Mr. Bob let you use the hose to suck the bottom of the hot tub.  You were a great helper and earned 5 more dollars. 

Of course, you love peeing outside.  A little earlier you and Mr. Bob both were peeing outside.  You two are really bonding.  You noticed the bump on the back of Mr. Bob's neck and asked him if had gone to the doicotor to have it look at it.

A little later you parents and Andrew arrived.  Your mother needed money to play checkers with Mr. Bob, so I let the two of you open your cards.

You counting your 50 dollars.  All ones.

Finally we all went outside to play some baseball.  We had lots of fun and even your father joined in.

Then it was bar-b-q time and on to the cakes.

I hope you enjoyed your special birthday sleepover.  I leave on Friday to go to New York and Pennsylvania to visit family and friends, so I will miss your real BD.
